This album covers a wide range of styles with six vocal tracks and seven instrumentals. I recently added Wild Dogs (recorded in 2008) to this album. Wild Dogs is actually an instrumental version of a vocal piece that I don’t have finalized lyrics for. The ‘Savage Beats’ could very well be classified as ‘drum and bass’, inspired by some of the type of work Bill Laswell has done. The ‘Songs’, and for that matter all the compositions are solo efforts. Ken Doucette makes an appearance on The Lost Souls with some nice acoustic and electric guitar. All the other acoustic guitars were programmed. I could sense the Pat Metheny influence from that period in the track.
